QUESTIONS ABOUT YOUR RECOVERY?

We understand that being contacted about a potential financial recovery opportunity may raise questions. Below you’ll find answers to many of the questions potential claimants commonly have about American Discovery Group and the recovery process.

ABOUT THE RECOVERY

Why did American Discovery Group contact me?

If American Discovery Group has contacted you, our research has identified a potential financial recovery opportunity that we believe may be connected to you or an interest you may be legally entitled to claim.

We are not contacting you to collect a debt or because you owe American Discovery Group or another party money. In fact, it is just the opposite. Our role is to help determine whether you are the rightful claimant, explain the potential recovery opportunity, and guide you through the process required to pursue it.

If eligibility is established, there may be funds you are entitled to recover.

What is a financial recovery opportunity?

A financial recovery opportunity may arise when funds or other financial assets are being held by a government agency or other institution and may be legally recoverable by an individual, business, estate, or other entity. The circumstances and requirements vary depending on the type of recovery and the applicable jurisdiction.

Why would I not already know about these funds?

Funds can become separated from their rightful owners for many reasons, including changes in address or ownership, estates and inheritances, overlooked financial interests, court proceedings, or because the owner was simply never aware that the asset existed.

How did American Discovery Group identify me as a potential claimant?

American Discovery Group researches potential financial recovery opportunities and examines available records to identify individuals or entities who may have a legal interest in the underlying assets. If we contacted you, our research indicated that you may be associated with a potential recovery opportunity that warrants further verification.

Does being contacted by American Discovery Group mean I am definitely entitled to money?

No. Initial identification of a potential recovery opportunity does not guarantee eligibility or recovery. Before a claim can proceed, we must verify the appropriate claimant, establish legal eligibility, obtain the required documentation and authorization, and satisfy the applicable requirements of the governing authority.

How much could my potential recovery be worth?

Recovery amounts vary significantly. Some opportunities may involve relatively modest amounts, while others can be substantial. Any potential recovery amount discussed by American Discovery Group is based on the applicable records available to us and remains subject to verification, eligibility, applicable expenses, and successful completion of the recovery process.

FEES & PAYMENT

Do I have to pay anything upfront?

No. American Discovery Group’s recovery services are performed on a contingency basis. There is no upfront cost for our recovery services, and we are compensated only upon a successful recovery, subject to the terms of our agreement.

How is American Discovery Group compensated?

If a recovery is successful, only then will American Discovery Group receive the agreed upon contingency fee from the gross recovery amount in accordance with the terms of the executed engagement agreement. The claimant receives the remaining net distribution after the agreed contingency fee and any applicable claim-related expenses are deducted.

Are there expenses associated with pursuing a claim?

Some claims may involve expenses such as postage, expedited delivery, notarization, or attorney fees when legal services are required. American Discovery Group advances applicable claim-related expenses so the claimant is not required to pay them upfront or out of pocket. Upon a successful recovery, applicable expenses are deducted from the gross recovery in accordance with the terms of the agreement.

Will I receive a breakdown of the deductions from my recovery?

Yes. Upon a successful recovery, the claimant will receive a detailed statement showing the gross recovery amount, the agreed contingency fee, applicable claim-related expenses, and the resulting net claimant distribution.

What happens if the recovery is unsuccessful?

Because our recovery services are performed on a contingency basis, American Discovery Group does not earn its contingency fee unless the recovery is successful. The specific terms governing fees and expenses are set forth in the executed engagement agreement.

Why do you need to verify my connection to the property or asset?

Before pursuing a claim, we must establish that the potential claimant has the appropriate legal connection to the property or asset associated with the recovery. This may involve reviewing ownership records and other supporting documentation relevant to the specific claim.

Will I need to sign an agreement or authorization?

Yes. Before American Discovery Group proceeds with a recovery on your behalf, the legally eligible claimant must execute the appropriate engagement agreement and provide the authorization and supporting documentation required for the specific claim. Notarization may also be required.
